Map and sidebar above are generated from two KML files. Click around on sidebar to see how it works. Then disable JavaScript from your browser and reload. Click again around sidebar. Notice how it still works pretty much the same. Only things missing are infobubbles and ability to drag.
If you're too lazy to disable JavaScript. Just go on page where all Google Maps and jQuery code has been removed.
