The number of companies making profit out of i-mode related operations is
very limited, in particular among contentproviders. There are only a few
companies that have more than 50,000 subscribers.
Billing will become THE issue in 3G. It was already announced that packet
rates will decrease drastically. Also, I would expect that DoCoMo includes
some intelligent billing agent in their network that calculates what is
better: pricing per connection time or pricing per packet.
GPRS per packet rates in Holland (KPN Mobile) are about one order of
magnitude cheaper than in DoCoMo's current 2G imode!!!
