don't know if anyone here works/used to work for McKinsey, who
proposed to DoCoMo i-mode business plan which Japanese could
not understand. so they adopted a very simple, and so far so
successful model which has the points:

- go for and be happy with the packet charge,
- simple, stupid billing (monthly fee of JPY 100-300 yen)
- control via the "official menu"

as a carrier, after all, your job is to carry the traffic and
the data charge is the basis of all the new 2.5G/3G networks
... which will have a hard time in front of WLAN.

on payment, will Mobey become popular in Europe?

the wireless Internet for content providers looks very like
the wired Internet that many live either on selling of space
for ads, or marketing intelligence (e-mail addresses, etc.).

other than enterprise sites for customers, employees, or
PR purpose with a budget, I believe most of the non-official
sites are lose makers.

cheers,

Ken
