Hello all

A quick question...

Will the future of music on mobile be down to media cards rather than ota
downloads?

Much as I love the technology, and I love the internet, I still like to go
shopping and I still like to browse and I still prefer 'real life' to
'virtual life'. It seems to me that there is an opportunity (subject to
getting the battery life right), to make mobile handsets the new walkmans by
taking advantage of the media slot.

I'd love to see 3G being successful but it's going to take a very long time
to change ingrained habits such as buying music from record shops.
Admittedly there are a significant number of people who prefer downloading,
but the majority of people still prefer shopping and wouldn't dream of
downloading a track on to their computer let along their mobile phone. And
it's both expensive and time consuming to change consumer behaviour to such
a degree.

What do others on the list think?
Helen
