     I am not sure about api , but there are phones available with SD
card in the market like Jphone , I saw one for 130 dollars in tokyo .=20

Perhaps a bit bizarre but I gotta ask. Numerous interesting apps could
be enabled (current temperature, wind direction, etc.) if there were a
way to communicate between an SD Memory card and a handset resident
application. Is anyone aware of any activity developing an API for the
SD Memory card?
