a program to filter the emoji codes won't be difficult but one may 
have problems the first time handling JIS/S-JIS/EUC codes. 

since this is a program running on PC or UNIX, I suggest one keep 
all the RFC 1468, 1554, 2237, and other standard ESC and SHIFT 
processings if you edit someone else's source.  it makes the code 
more robust and expandable.
