Seems that an US company suddenly invents something that others have
been doing for  years.

"NeoMedia Technologies, Inc. (OTCBB: NEOM - News), an innovator
(sigh) in wireless services and patented technologies that provide
mobile marketing-enabling automatic links to Internet-based
information, said today that it has been awarded a patent covering
the capture and processing of bar codes explicitly from camera cell
phones."

The patent itself:

Sect1=PTO1&Sect2=HITOFF&d=PALL&p=1&u=/netahtml/
srchnum.htm&r=1&f=G&l=50&s1=6,993,573.WKU.&OS=PN/6,993,573&RS=PN/
6,993,573

Does this have effect on such project as Semacode?
