I've been mostly working with US mobile web phones for the past 12 months...
and in that market non standard displays are very common (and make life very difficult)...
but the developers adapt. And in the past few months they have become almost the norm.

Sometimes no changes are required... The more popular the phone is of its own accord
(or marketing) ... that tends to drive whether it is supported or not. I find that is
the main driving force.

But what most people aren't aware of (except other developers) is that
font size availability and font size choices are equally as important as screen size. And on
the Japanese phones I have worked with you can often change the font size so....
this creates a myriad of problems........ I find the testers often turn a blind eye
to this too.... and thus the end users must suffer. I hate that.
