Subject: July Monthly Meeting - July 6, 2000

Hello TPC Members:

Our next Monthly General Meeting will continue our tradition of
having a summer roundtable discussion. We've had roundtables on
games, hardware, Japanese language issues, and other topics while
I've been associated with the TPC. This time, we will have roundtables
on mobile and handheld computing.

We will have at least six roundtables, featuring a number of people
who have both vocational and avocational interests in mobile and
handheld computing. The meeting will start with very short summaries
by the roundatle leaders to the full audience, before splitting off into
the roundatbles themselves. Some of the tables will feature the
following:

Richard Northcott, President of Enfour Technologies, will present
the Psion Series of handhelds, as well as 3G mobile phone technology
being developed in Japan.

David Wright, Account Executive of Technology at Linc Media, will
present various applications for the Handspring Visor, as well as mobile
phone applications being devloped by Linc Media.

TPC Vice-President Andrew Hayes, IT Manager of CVi Corporation,
will present the Windows CE platform, and some productivity
enhancements that he has created for his device.

Chris Painter, Founder of TurtleShell and the TPC's new Website host,
will show how he uses his Palm applications.

TPC Past President, APCUG Representative, and Gadget Guru
extraoridinaire Ken Cotton will show his Palm, various mobile phone
technologies, and whatever he likes.

Finally, I will show at least three flavors of Palm devices: a Palm IIIx
with JOS 3.0, Handspring Visor, and a TRGPro, with a Compact Flash
expansion slot. I will also have my Compact Flash PHS phone
connected with the TRGPro, and will connect it to view Web pages
at Shakey's after the meeting.

Anby other mobile and handheld afficianados are welcome to hold
their own roundtables and should contact one of our Program
Directors - Julie Higgins or Julie Levin - or myself.
