I wrote the i-mode extensions for BrowserHawk but didn't think they had been
released yet. Where did you hear about it?

I would check out these guys:

They have a product which Im using called BrowserHawk and it includes
i-mode devices.  Rather expensive but worth the yearly if you dont have
time or resources to keep up with all the new devices coming out.  But
like you said someone with experience using HTTP_ACCEPT and other cgi
headers can be able to program it themselves easily.
