1G - analog mobile service
2G - the current GSM network
2.5G - those device support GPRS, HSCSD, EDGE

While there is some consensus on what 3G devices will be, some use the term
2.5G to refer to current wireless devices.
If this term is more than just hyperspeak, I'd appreciate any information
