i-appli is a term coined by DoCoMo (half brand-building I guess).
midlet is the official term used by the developer community (led by
Javasoft) for Java code executed by the Java KVM (the virtual machine
embedded in your keitai).
In sum: an iappli is a midlet, but not all midlets are iapplis.
