i-mode can be deployed on 2G and 2.5G networks, no reason to wait for
3G. In fact, DoCoMo and its partners announced several times that they
are planning to launch i-mode services in Europe within 2001. In Germany
E-Plus has been quoted by the press saying that it will happen there
before the end of this year.
