This is not really that friendly but falls into the weird feature slot.
My Au Sanyo A3015SA has English predictive input in Japanese mode (only!).

Type in hiragana A and you get

1) Au
2) Aka

etc..until suggestion 13 when English words are given

13) love
14) autumn
15) morning
16) tomorrow
17) taste
18) play
19) head
20) new
21) hot
22) after
23) you
24) brother
25) sister
26) rain
27) thank you
28) thanks
29) [more Japanese words]

Can you see the connection? All the translations of the English words
start with A in Japanese. This is virtually useless for foreigners, as
to use it to type English, you have to think of the Japanese word
corresponding to the English word that you want to write, type in the
first character of that word in Hiragana and then go down the
suggestions list and hope to find the English word there!
