Thanks very much for all your ideas and recommendations on this thread. 
To clarify some of your questions about the development and testing... 
the hardware solution that we are using for mobile delivery is the Net6 
box... It apparently has all the USA mobile phone UI profiles in it and 
uses a page content scraper to pull only the regions we have specified 
in our templates... and then formats it for the handset in question... 
Its got a whole development suite where you can view your real world 
HTML pages and then see what it will look like on the said handset... 
but call me old school.. I like to see what it will look like on a real 
phone as well...

I will now have to look in to the opportunity to get the handsets maybe 
from Cingular... as SBC is part owner in that company... and since 
there is that tie in... maybe we can get some handsets from them to 
test the site... seems like a logical next step...
