There are quite a few people interested in unlocking these 801 series
phones, but no one has been successful yet.
I heard one idea (from this list?) of offering to purchase a rented unit,
but we were told they do not rent the 801 series devices.
I suppose they are trying to keep sales/profits on the GX3? - the
non-Japanese identity of this phone. Although that doesn't help those of us
that spend big chunks of time in and out of Japan...
If you find a solution, please share as I know of many that would be
interested.
