AU has not been selling anything but 3G for years.
They now have almost 90% of users on 3G and 3.5G (WIN @ 2.4Gbps)
and switched off their PDC network years ago.

Japanese mobile carriers have good profits, and users up/download
pretty massive data now that there are all-you-can-eat
data subscriptions.
