usually, a QR code gives a URI to the resource, as a quick input 
method like WebNum or 4649 numbers, not the the image file itself. 
search postings in the list and you should be able to find more. 

btw, the original Sha-mail was 120 x 128 JPEG in 6 KB Long-Mail, 
including header and text ... I'm not sure but was the question 
"a photo to human eyes but a QR code to the recognition software"?
