you can find global figures about these industries in the latest
WIRED magazine (Nov 2000-issue, page 122) - I just pick those
industry branches which are related to entertainment in the
wider sense:
Alcohol $ 97 Billion
Tobaco $ 56 Billion
Wireless $ 40 Billion
Books $ 24 Billion
Music $ 15 Billion
Videogames $ 6 Billion
Movies $ 2 Billion
(I have not checked any of these numbers - they might be open
to some discussion).
Hope this resolves the issue to some extent.
