"Consumers have a message for companies trying to figure out why the
wireless Web market has failed to take off in [the U.S.]: It's the screen,
stupid. "

Aaah, yes, finally, a new an innovative way of explaining the WAP/i-mode
paradigm ;-)

Those American "analysts" are *really* ruining my morning reading now...

Don't read anything related to mobile on CNet or ZDNet! They are so full of
themselves, with their infinite knowledge on "wireless" (which also includes
radios if you ask me ;-), it is just sickening.

Take that Nielsen booger for example:

http://www.zdnet.com/devhead/alertbox/20010107.html

He tries to explain the lack of market success of mobile internet services
in the U.S. by comparing it with... the Minitel system in France?!
Giiiiivvvveeee meeeeeee aaaaaa breeaaaaaaaaak! Someone, anyone, please: Sew
This Man!

And on "cultural differnces" between Japan and
the-rest-of-the-civilized-world, the above CNet article coins:

"Others have speculated that social conventions [in Japan] frown more
heavily on talking on the phone in public places such as buses or
restaurants, driving people to use the silent Net connection more easily."

More coffee please...

Victor out
