Dear all,

Can anyone tell me if the DoCoMo gateway does a conversion from
plain-text-cHTML to somekind of
'compiled' code to make the amount of bytes sent over te air as small as
possible?
(btw, this is typically one of the functions of a WAP gateway).

Also, pictures of the DoCoMo gateway show that it converts HTTP to ALP and
TCP to TLP,
and viceversa. This is similar to WAP where HTPP is converted to WSP & WTP,
SSL is converted
to WTLS and TCP/IP to WDP. Just as a brainteaser: I guess it would be
possible to use the network protocol
that WAP uses to deliver cHTML content? Not that I am fond of that since WML
offers more functionality than cHTML,
but just to wonder if WAP handset manufacturers that would like to support
cHTML have do to a
lot more work than just implementing cHTML.

Anyone?

Best regards,
Paul
