There is nothing to stop someone from using the i-mode extended HTML/XHTML
on WAP.

Well, DoCoMo announced it would launch i-Mode in Seattle, Washington (USA)
in June of this year.  The fine print said it would be a WAP product.  So in
this case they will simply extend the brand name, but not the technology.
