Not only the P503iS but the P503i as well. Both wrap "Internet" pages at 20
half-width characters. I got a chance today to do some surfing on a couple
of different phones, in a different showcase shop than the one I visited
last week.

Both phones show 12 kanji across on their demo pictures. It occurred to me
(too late to actually test it, though) that these screen shots show mail,
not sites, and perhaps the difference is not between full- and half-width
character spacing, but is a difference between mail and 'net sites, even
though the DoCoMo info at http://www.nttdocomo.co.jp/i/tag/s5.html says that
this info is for iMode browser screens.

So, conclusion: I don't know how to account for the discrepancy between
DoCoMo's published figures for full-width characters, and the observed
figures for half-width characters. I've lowered the figure for my site's
line wrapping for both of Panasonic's 503i keitai phones.
