Actually, Curt, your e-mail is not 'leaked' by NTT DoCoMo, but sold. DoCoMo,
through it's affiliate company called D2, which is a joint venture with
Dentsu, sells demographically targeted e-mailings to advertisers. They claim
that you have the right to opt out of these e-mailings. I have never gotten
even one spam (no joke) on my i-mode keitai, so I have never looked into how
these e-mailings work, and how to opt out, but I have it from a DoCoMo vice
president that they are doing this. I reckon, actually, that you must have
e-mailed someone with your new address. Since I have never, except once,
told anyone my docomo mail address, I am guessing this is the reason I don't
get spam. Not sure why this would have protected me against my own carrier,
though...presumably they know my address. Must be that wrong brown-haired,
ugly, short, henna Gaijin demographic...Congratulations Curt! You must be
tall, blonde hair, and blue-eyed!
Unpreturbed,
Nik Frengle
