I don't see how readings would make any kind of difference, other than
the usual problems that can be expected with any system.* This just
encodes the unicode representation of the kanji, and leaves it at that.
Readings (in the sense of yomi) never come into it.

* There are, of course, multiple ways of representing the same word,
which might cause confusion. For example, does toshiba.co.jp also get
to have 東芝.co.jp? How about とうしば.co.jp? Not to mention
トウシバ.co.jp and the half-width version of it.
