Hi Ken
SH53 looks great and I suppose that also the hardware is optimized for=20=

running such large Java applications so comparing teh start-up speeds=20
to the phones you have today on the market is not so useful...

With Java Apps getting bigger it starts to do some competition to=20
phones with more advanced OSs like Symbian and Nokia's Platform 60.

For my recent experience Jeff underlined a very important feature that=20=

Symbian and Nokia's Platform 60 have and should be included in the Java=20=

runtime environment: Call and message activated applications.

Under Nokia Platform 60 this feature is possible at the OS level.=20
Activating message are called "bio messages". This is a quite important=20=

feature as there are a lot of consumer and business applications that=20=

could be developed by using this feature...

Anyway...:

Is the memory expandable?
If not why they are still developing phones with no expandable memory?=20=

This has no logic to me...

After using the Nokia 3650 i think it should be a must-have feature of=20=

any advanced camera equipped phone...

About the comparison between consumer and specific B2B business or=20
corporate applications: I usually see much more heavy use of client=20
resources for consumer apps and much more server based resources for=20
B2B or corporate applications.

Right now there is one candidate for the second generation Vodafone=20
Live phones and it is not so exciting... It could be a Vodafone Live=20
customized Panasonic X70:

http://www.panasonicmobile.com/cebit/eng/x70.html

I think Vodafone has a quiet big stock of the old Panasonic GD-87 (Not=20=

any more in production) as it has launched a number of very=20
interesting offers to sell it. As a consequence on the market a used GD=20=

87 has no value at all here in Italy that could be not so important,=20
but tells you a little about Panasonic brand consumer perception.

As user experience both Panasonic and Siemens have a lot to do... most=20=

of the users find the interface too difficult if compared to other EU=20
phones.

Ciao

Giovanni
