as Natsuno said again when announcing the new FOMA handsets last week,
the best advertisement for 3G is it's at least as good as 2.5G.
what the wireless data services need is the old ADSL over the radio,
and the best current technology to do that over large area is TD-CDMA,
something that none of DoCoMo, au/KDDI, or Vodafone Japan has.
keep an eye on other Japanese carriers, as well as Siemens/China.
