Also, a common way for unofficial sites to keep track of transient user info
(typically done with cookie on platforms that support them, ie. pc) is with
session support. One way or another, once the user is identified, perhaps by
a login page, perhaps by utn, this information is usually kept by session
support, which is often a parameter on the url.

I'm not clear on the payment handling for unofficial sites.  I've heard that
docomo and vodafone are opening up their billing systems to unofficial
sites.

my information may be a bit old, but this can be done in a number of ways.
