New Nokia style engine makes debut

The GPRS enabled Nokia 8310 fashion phone combines beauty with brains

Nokia today unveiled its newest phone model in its fashion category,
further cementing the company's position as the world's leading
design house for mobile communications. The small and light-weight
Nokia 8310 is the epitome of style in mobile phones and the first
Nokia phone in the market to incorporate GPRS (General Packet Radio
Service) technology. It is stylishly provocative, taking phone
personalization to an entirely new level with a tridimensional
surface and translucent layering for a unique aesthetic look. The
phone will be available in the third quarter, 2001.

"We are very excited to introduce our first GPRS phone inside a shell
which takes personalization and fashion in mobile phones to
unprecedented heights. The Nokia 8310 is the ultimate personal phone,
a chameleon that can take on a multitude of potential color
combinations with its tridimensional surface decor. It breaks new
ground in mobile phone design providing a personal fashion tech
accessory for people who want to express their unique personal style
while having access to the very latest mobile services," said Frank
Nuovo, Chief Designer, Nokia Mobile Phones.

The Nokia 8310 introduces a progressive design language,
incorporating the latest look and feel in colors, materials,
finishes, and design details. Front and back Xpress-on covers
and a translucent window frame offer a dramatically changeable
appearance, allowing more freedom than ever to personalize the phone
exterior. Overlapping translucent surfaces and colors make the beauty
of this phone more than skin deep. Shiny chrome surface finish on the
main function keys, power key, bezel around the display, and battery
release button afford it dazzling detail. It also flaunts a white
backlight. It is urban and independent, focused yet casual, making it
a phone as unique as its individual users.

The Nokia 8310 comes with an array of attractive features such as an
integrated FM radio and a dual headset. The new headset makes call
and radio management convenient: incoming calls are easily managed
while the radio is on and it is possible to browse the web, play
games, write messages, and use the phonebook while listening to the
radio. Advanced voice features include voice dialling and voice
activation of the radio. The phone also supports voice commands to
activate the infrared function and change user profiles from, for
example, "Outdoor" to "Meeting." An additional attraction is the
possibility to record voice memos of up to 3 minutes in length.

GPRS technology will allow users to get more out of mobility and
personalization. Whenever the phone is turned on and has been GPRS
configured, there is an immediate connection to services via the GPRS
network, where GPRS networks are available. GPRS sends data in
packets, making billing schemes possible based on the amount of
information sent or received, rather than on connection time. WAP
over GPRS will allow users to do things like browse restaurant guides
or see what's showing at the local cinema. The phone also supports
HSCSD (High Speed Circuit Switched Data) for flexible data
connections.

The Nokia 8310 integrates the latest WAP features with support for
WAP release 1.2.1. It enables the phone to receive "service message
indicators" where a WAP page alert is displayed with a convenient
link to a WAP site. This makes push-based mobile services such as
continuous newscasts and shopping tips from favorite retailers
possible. WAP release 1.2.1 also enables the Nokia 8310 to store
cookies, much in the same way as cookies are stored in a PC web
browser. The next time you visit a WAP site, the phone is able to
recall what information you specifically looked at and display the
same window.

The Nokia 8310 is an EGSM 900/1800 dual band mobile phone and comes
in 9 inbox color combinations. It weighs 84g, is 97mm in length and
66cc in size. It has a talk time of up to 4 hours and a standby time
of up to 400 hours with the radio off and 20 hours with the radio
on.

Nokia is the world leader in mobile communications. Backed by its
experience, innovation, user-friendliness and secure solutions, the
company has become the leading supplier of mobile phones and a
leading supplier of mobile, fixed and IP networks. By adding mobility
to the Internet Nokia creates new opportunities for companies and
further enriches the daily lives of people. Nokia is a broadly held
company with listings on six major exchanges.

NOKIA PRESS RELEASE

                       March 21, 2001

Nokia unveils a powerful performer for mobile professionals

The Nokia 6310 enhances Internet access and connectivity with GPRS
and Bluetooth

Nokia today introduced a new refined member of its family of classic
phones. The Nokia 6310 is a powerful package of technology, providing
fast and easy access to mobile services with WAP (Wireless
Application Protocol) over GPRS (General Packet Radio Service), as
well as enhanced connectivity with integrated Bluetooth technology.
The Nokia 6310 is primarily targeted for mobile professionals who
need a reliable tool and innovative, easy-to-use solutions to manage
their business and leisure lives. The phone will be available during
the fourth quarter, 2001.

"The Nokia 6310 is a continuation in the evolution of the Nokia
classic phone category, setting references for mobile professionals
who value efficiency and productivity as well as use their phone as a
life management tool. Encased in a harmonious, tasteful exterior,
GPRS, Bluetooth and SyncML technology will make it a true performer
for mobile professionals," said Anssi Vanjoki, Executive Vice
President, Nokia Mobile Phones.

GPRS enables an always-on WAP connection. Whenever the phone is
turned on and has been GPRS configured, there is an immediate
connection to services via the GPRS network, where GPRS networks are
available. GPRS sends data in packets, making billing schemes
possible based on the amount of information sent or received, rather
than on connection time. The phone also supports HSCSD (High Speed
Circuit Switched Data) for flexible data connections. The Nokia 6310
integrates the latest WAP features with support for WAP release
1.2.1. It enables the phone to receive "service message indicators"
where a WAP page alert is displayed with a convenient link to a WAP
site. This makes push-based mobile services such as stock alerts or
continuous newscasts possible. WAP release 1.2.1 also enables the
Nokia 6310 to store cookies, much in the same way as cookies are
stored in a PC web browser. The next time you visit a WAP site, the
phone is able to recall what information you specifically looked at
and display the same window.

The Nokia 6310 incorporates WTAI (Wireless Telephony Application
Interface) Public Library which enables you to make a phone call from
a WAP site. With this application, it is no longer necessary to
terminate a WAP session to make a phone call. Instead you can
temporarily interrupt it to make the call, after which you
automatically return to the site, for example when browsing a car
rental site to reserve a car. With vCard support it is possible to
automatically save contact information such as a business card listed
on a WAP site to the phone's memory. Similarly, vCal support allows
you to save a calendar appointment from a WAP site to the phone's
calendar.

The phone also has an integrated Bluetooth module, which supports
both wireless data and audio connectivity with compatible Bluetooth
devices within a range of ten meters. With SyncML support, the Nokia
6310 takes the management of personal information to a new level of
productivity and ease. SyncML makes remote data synchronization
possible, allowing you to stay in sync regardless of your physical
location. The phone's calendar, contacts directory, and to-do list
can be synchronized remotely with office applications or web-based
calendar services using a WAP connection. Local synchronization can
be done using Bluetooth, infrared or cable.

The Nokia 6310 comes with enhanced voice features, including voice
commands for pre-set phone functionality and a voice recording
application for recording memos and conversations. It also comes with
new clock and timing features such as a countdown timer and
stopwatch, and supports concatenated short messaging. An exchange
rate converter makes it possible to calculate multiple conversion
rates, and a "to-do" list is included as a new menu item.

The Nokia 6310 is an EGSM 900/1800 dual band mobile phone. It weighs
111 g, and measures 47 mm in width and 129 mm in length. It has a
talk time of 3 hours and a standby time of up to 20 days, depending
on network conditions. The phone comes in three color options and is
compatible with most of the accessories in the 6100 series mobile
phones and the Nokia 6210. An inbox BPS-2 1100 mAh Li-Polymer battery
provides enhanced battery performance.

Nokia is the world leader in mobile communications. Backed by its
experience, innovation, user-friendliness and secure solutions, the
company has become the leading supplier of mobile phones and a
leading supplier of mobile, fixed and IP networks. By adding mobility
to the Internet Nokia creates new opportunities for companies and
