Why not do the following: take everything usable non-technical stuff from
the i-mode concept.Transfer that to Europe. Use it with the WAP standard.

Jeff Funk responds: I agree that the technical aspects of i-mode are
overrated. Interestingly though Natsuno argues in his book i-mode strategy
that the key to i-mode's success is the use of c-html and other so-called
Internet compatible standards. He also says in his book  that foreign
companies keep asking him "what contents drive the traffic" and he tells
them "it doesn't matter, just provide a lot of different contents and people
will access them." Of course US and european companies think they are doing
that with WAP.
