I would assume it is (not only because I think most handsets are delivered
with a preloaded set of iapplis and also because most handset's firmware
can be upgraded via cable) but haven't come across any public description
so far.

However, I know it is possible with for example the Nokia Communicator and
Motorola phones like the i85s, i50s and Accompli 008, where you can do the
upload OTA, via cable or via IrDA. Unfortunately these are pure J2ME phones
and not iAppli.

Anybody knows anybody in DoCoMo who could know more?
