GPRS in both cases, for AT&T on 1900 MHz, which is part of the problem, 
since the handsets volumes may be a bit too low initially. Light-weight 
tri-band GSM/GPRS modules seems to be hard to get hold of for the Japanese 
manufacturers.

The current PocketNet utilizes CDPD (packet TDMA).
