Nik, I would say that you are One Sick Puppy, except for one
thing: you didn't keep this idea a secret and go and file a
patent application. Maybe you should have, though. You
could be One *Rich* Sick Puppy, someday soon.

iAppli/i-mode-compatible overhead projectors are clearly
a cool and useful idea. Especially since the component
cost could be expected to be considerably less than that
for an iAppli phone. After all, there is obviously very little need
for that expensive pocketable miniaturization in a unit that's
as heavy as an overhead projector; also very little need for
that expensive flyweight power-management magic in a unit
that plugs into the wall and heats up the room. Probably
someone's doing this already.

That leaves the problem of how to be compatible with
all the existing, dumb slide projectors out there., and
IntelliSlide (if I may coin a tradename for some productization
of your hack) would obviously be the way to go, if it's possible.

Something tells me Henry Minsky and allied elves are already
butchering hapless little phones at Keio, trying to make this
idea work.. Francis Bacon said "Nature will not yield her
secrets willingly - we must torture her for them." I guess
he could have been talking about Japanese consumer
electronics as well (if they'd had them back then, anyway).
