Thank you, David, for your great help.
I had my code worked finally on F503i emulator, but not N503i which is I
was working on before.

So Gary, you may need to try on F503i.

As for System.out.println, it still doesn't work.

Gary, do you think it is the operating system's problem?? I am using NT
4.0, what OS do you use??

System.out.println works fine in the i-Jade (N503) emulator - I just
tried it. The output should appear in the DOS shell from which i-Jade
was started.

When you try to access the scratchpad using i-Jade what happens? Does
the application crash or just ignore your command? I also had problems
with i-Jade's scratchpad. It never seemed to keep the data between
sessions (maybe even within sessions but I never tested that).
