Hi Kyle,

In order to combine multiple images into one one the server-side, as you
mention, it is possible that you would be infringing Unisys' GIF patent .
This is because your application on the serverside rather than a licenced
application such as photoshop would be creating the image.

Surely the same issues also arise for client-side image manipulation
applets/midlets?

Has this been an issue for any I-Mode application developers/content
providers?

Note - I am working under the assumption that GIF is the only supported

The space around images is dependent on the device so it is better to=20
build a single image from your image slices on the server-side (=E0 la=20=

PHP GD) than deliver separate slices to the phone.
