the FOMA "multitask" means concurrent communication sessions, like
you can check Web or send mail while making a phone call.

without multitask, SH900i is able to have the user interface look
and feel like SH505i/iS handsets, providing customers a smooth ride.
this is contrast with P500i which frustrates old Panasonic users.

multitask used to be one of the most advertised features of FOMA
that people really don't care. but without it, i-mode messages
will fail to deliver during a video call (would someone please
tell me why?). lucky people almost never make video calls.

the i-mode mail, PDC and FOMA alike, is not reliable service and
you will have to check the mailbox from time to time.
