Hei- that sounds interesting. 3D barcodes, are these holograms or
little blocks of cubes?

Japan is behind, here in Tokyo we only have 1D and 2D (QR) barcodes...

Yes, that's standard on all DoCoMo phones now - they all have
1D and 2D (QR) bar code readers built in.
