Which is probably not so hard, if the rest of the world is using
Semacode, and it's a fairly open standard. It would take time, but when
there was leadership elsewhere in the world on 3G, Japanese carriers
switched. I propose that the main reason DoCoMo is using a slighly
different version of WCDMA than the rest of the world is because the
rest of the world didn't get its standards together quickly enough. They
certainly showed intent to try and move away from things used only in
Japan, such as PDC.
