Thanks for the technical details. I find it strange that the Cassiopeia can
use the IR connection to dial the internet using the Nokia, but yet it does
nothing when trying to exchange data.

Actually the Nokia seems to connect to quite a lot of different devices
which would suggest it has good support. This table gives a good overview:
