Hello,

does anyone know if there is some streaming (hifi stereo) audio yet
possible on keitai?
I've read about ketai de music etc, but streaming wasn't mentioned.

It would be great to have interactive audio for browsing songs or in
games since graphics are naturally restricted. And it would be even
greater if java could handle audio with play- and loop- methods. The
greatest would be if it was possible to store/generate audio directly
in/from an applet. But i guess there isn't enough memory/speed.

When i asked sun about the "sound API" mentioned in the documentation
(and this mailinglist), they confirmed that it can't do more than a
beep. That's the pity with the sandbox/crossplatform concept: You can
program devices full of audio-DSP power while no audio but a lousy beep
is possible. Until someone at sun thinks it may be useful..

cheers
