some fun calculation... :-)

> DoCoMo: 11 spam messages
> J-Phone: 3 spams

users [courtesy of mobilemediajapan.com]:

i-mode: > 24.0 million
EZweb: >   7.6 million
J-Sky: >   7.0 million

--> i-mode / J-Sky  = 24.0 / 7.0 = 3.42

As there are 3.42 times more phones for i-Mode the chance of guessing right
addresses is also 3.42 times higher with i-Mode,
hence the 3 messages multiply to 3*3.42 = 10.3  -> 11 messages with i-mode

for your stats: I got a J-Phone since November 2000:
- did not receive spam until this April
- receive about 1 spam message a week since then

Bought 1 J-Phone and 1 DoCoMo last Thursday, till Monday when I changed the
default addresses the tally was:
DoCoMo: 11 spam messages
J-Phone: 3 spams

The thing with DoCoMo seems to be that it is easier to guess the address as
most/all finish with the same @docomo.ne.jp while with J-Phone there are
plenty of valid domains ie. @jp-c.ne.jp, @jp-n.ne.jp, @jp-t.ne.jp

So I am getting less spam with J-Phone (plus I don't have to pay for
receiving mails, unlike with DoCoMo).
