RE: "Usable & convenient, new GPS-enabled Location Based Service for the
day-to-day user in Japan"

The current EZ-ekitan service provided by Toshiba in Japan is currently be
upgraded to incorporate KDDI's new GPS location based service (EZ-navi). The
upgrade will provide a door-to-door navigation service for users guiding
them to the nearest train station, utilising GPS location data available to
KDDI subscriber handsets such as the new C3000 or the C5000. The service
will cost a mere 105 Yen per month - around $1.50. Using the application,
users can save previous positions to create a home position and popular
departure points. True usability is added to the service by alerting the
user about the arrival of a train that the user wishes to catch. The user
will be alerted by an alarm noise on the handset.

Anybody actually using this service ?

It'd be interesting to know the feedback (+ and -) as there are very few
useful (and successful) consumer oriented Location Based Services for
mobiles worldwide.
