Thanks for all the advice in response to my original query - I've put
off getting an AirH" on the idea that I can get a little cable to plu my
j-phone into my laptop, and thus avoid having to pay additional monthly
fees on top of my existing keitai account. After a fruitless day in
Shibuya it turns out that none of the J-Phone shops had the appropriate
adapter (they'll order it apparently if I want one) and neither did
several other electronics stores I spoke to. I was hoping to get one by
tomorrow, so no luck there.
Looking at the charges it seems like connecting through my keitai will
cost me roughly 20 yen a minute - about 4 hours compared to the
tsunagihodai from AirH"
Hmm, to buy an AirH" card or not to buy one, that is the question ....
I'm sure you're all on tenderhooks as to my final purchase decision .... not
