Wešve just finished the first day of the CTIA show here in Orlando, and I
thought some of you might be interested to learn that DoCoMo has a large
booth at the show. They are presenting FOMA as well as i-mode. I finally got
to see a FOMA phone (yea!). They have both the Panasonic and the Mitsubishi
on display, with US demonstrators backed up by technical staff from Japan.
One interesting thing about the Panasonic that I have not seen mentioned is
that if you record a movie on the phone, the image while recording is a
mirror image. However, upon later playback, the image is mirrored so the
view is as if the person watching the movie was actually looking at you at
the time you recorded the sequence. Very cute human factors touch.

Also, the Coke machines ­ I learned one way you can have trouble with the
machine. You need to have the backlight on the phone on when the machine
scans your phone, otherwise it cannot see the barcode....
