hi Dave and Shashank,

a Japanese text editor called Hidemaru/Maruo, compact and feature
rich, good for programmers, allows you input control codes #0c, #1b,
etc., and supports regex text search, like grep. it's perfect for
Japanese, has small problems for Korean and Chinese.

I forgot where I downloaded it, but this will help
http://www.ac.wakwak.com/~tetsuyat/maruo/

cheers,
  Ken
