here is an answer to your standard question why how...

we are Optimay/Agere. A chip set and software design house. We designing
GPRS reference design phones mainly manufactured
in Asia. Present products using our solutions are the Ericsson R600 GPRS
phone and the NEC Imode GPRS phone and most Samsung GPRS phones.

here some info:
http://www.agere.com/client/docs/OT01325-1.pdf

The next generation phones MUST have Java so we embed a KVM into our stack.
Therefore we would like to get as much as possible Java demos to present it
to

Well, from beyond the confines of keitai-l, anyway. It seems our
beloved yet long-lost compatriot and whipping-boy will be speaking
at the next Code-J meeting, and on a keitai topic, even.

I encourage everyone here to show up and join me in jeering and
heckling him. I'm sure he'll be grateful that we're there to enliven
his presentation.
