For the record, in Canada we have 4 companies offering flat rate high
speed.   2 offer GPRS, and two offer 1XRTT.

cost is flat rate 3756 Yen ($50 CDN) for now, though rates could be
increasing.

I use accounts with all four.  Average about 50k on 1X, with peaks to 70k. 

GPRS works great, quite consistently at 50k, though Rogers has been having
some teething problems as their GSM network is quite new.
