Hi Jonas,

Thanks for your time.

Anyway let me tell you my requirement a bit.

I want to create an application through which a user can transfer the
information on his/her cell phone ( any make
NOKIA/Ericssion/Motorola/Siemens and lot more ) to his/her PC and then can
upload to a remote server ( may be through a web application) . So that in
case of loss of cell phone the same information can be downloaded in the new
handset.

have a look at the components provided by www.oxygensoftware.com for this
purpose but they support only NOKIA and moreover I want to know the format
and the access mechanism for the information that is stored on the handset.
I think it should be something like the conduits we write to synchronize our
PDAs with the PC, but need detailed info on that.

Do I still sound like a hacker?

Gurmeet

If you care to do it yourself or with opensource tools, start out here:
http://www.gnokii.org/

Before I found the above I simply used Nokia' specs that came with for
instance the PCMCIA adapter for the 3110 to access most stuff via plain
old AT modem commands - no problem if you are a bit of a hacker.

For the 9xxx-series you can use IntelliSync - comes free with the phone
and plugs straigt into Outlook etc. Only tried it with the cable, so
far.
