It depends on how bit your home directory is. We should be seeing soon,
if we haven't already, 256 MB mini-SD cards, which I expect will come in
around 10,000 yen. This would be plenty for me. Give it another year, or
even less, and we'll have 512 MB ones for 15,000 yen or so.

So it's not hard to put a lot of memory into a phone. The USB interface
is another matter.

On the other hand, this is pretty easy to do already if you don't mind
carrying another device, such as a USB memory stick, or your digitial
camera.

The unfortunate thing is that all these forms of storage are quite slow,
compared to a hard disk. And then USB is slow, too, although USB 2.0 may
not be so bad.
