I'm rubbish at arts ... that I dare to say both Infobar and W11K
are rubbish, though they may change the atmosphere in the shop and
encourage customers to buy other handsets.

I used to do some work on the user interface before i-mode. many
things I studied like the design of remote controllers, calculators,
cameras, diary books, wallets, watches, and ... pistols. physically
N900i (w/ downgraded LCD w/o camera) is exactly what I wanted.

I think people need more a handset that fits like a glove and with
excellent usability. but cute design and some ridiculous specs do
sell a lot at shops, especially to the women and teenagers (excuse
my political incorrectness).

I think companies need dedicated teams and labs to design and test
intuitive and efficient user interface. like commercial software
designs where you record user operations and study the movements of
their fingers and eye focus and estimate their efforts and stress
(I think we need schools on user interface more than polygraph).

a company as Nokia, I can't imagine they don't already have one.

it's usually painful to switch from one user interface to another,
like vi <=> Notepad. so personal experience might not be useful,
and seeing isn't necessarily believing.
